Fifty Sixth (56th)

Amy arrives half an hour early without her man and meanders around the garden with Diana talking about plants. Everyone is totally late! Let’s give them the raspberry!

Finally Kimby arrives. Diana asks her for the pictures that she had her print out and Kimby goes to the car to retrieve them, only to discover there has been a tragic water incident and the pictures are now all wet! Dude, party foul! Diana thinks maybe she can save them (”I love my wet pictures”) but alas, they are too far gone. Kimby will have to re-do them, and fast, because Grandma has empty frames hanging on her walls! Unless of course those are meant to be portraits of our long lost cousin Blank. Could be.

Then Ali shows up, also without her man and it becomes clear that Colby will be holding the space for the Masculine energy all on his own tonight. Go Colbs!! There is lots of girly chit chat before FF truly gets started.

Ali shares first - a book called “Dieting for Dummies“. Grandma thinks she said “Dieting with Dummies” and wonders if that means we should all do it together. Ali talks about how to tell what a portion size is (more than a fist full is too much!) and Amy suggests she get measurements tattooed on her body like some guy she read about in a magazine.

Colby tells us he can now spy on birds mating in the garden with his state of the art peepshow birdhouse. He then shares “Rhapsody in Blue” performed by Herbie Hancock and Lang Lang from the Grammy awards and Noah is the conductor!

Kimby shares scenes from the movie “Dan in Real Life” with Steve Carell (he’s so cooooool). It is a very unprepared share, but oh so worth it when we get to enjoy the crazy singing family that reminds us of our own.

Amy shares some pictures from home - she and Keith have ventured into craftsmanship by building a kick ass altar shelf from a vision Amy had. Now they are going to start making more and selling them in their online store. She also shares various pictures of the flowers that are currently blooming in her yard.

Then Amy & Kimby introduce the group to the loveable antics of Kelly through the YouTube videos : “Shoes” and “Let Me Borrow that Top“. No matter how many times they have seen this, they still can’t help but laugh at the sheer goofiness of it all.

SMOKE BREAK and Colby treats us to some Dire Straits (referring to the Band, not the economy, in case you were wondering!) There are lots of Orbs floating around out here at night. Whoa! Speaking of Orbs - check out this one right next to Diana’s head. I wonder if that’s Granny coming to hang out with us in spirit. She must be having some pretty wild dreams about now.

Back inside, Colby shares some TV clips : a shadow puppet show by Raymond Crowe that was on David Letterman, and then some of Austin City Limits featuring Corinne Bailey Rae and K.T. Tunstall. We learn that the song “Black Horse and a Cherry Tree” came to her when she was driving around and saw it. So Colby will write a song about a glass and a table lamp, as that is what is in his line of sight at the moment. I’m sure it will be a smash hit.

Then we enjoy some vintage Bob Dylan. Man, he sure can’t sing, but what a poet! If people could have understood what he was saying, he probably would have been assassinated for his radical views. Noah is fascinated by the blue light coming from Colby’s record player.

Diana shared some of the Oprah show episode with the pregnant man and on that note :

SMOKE BREAK - lots more goofy family memories are shared and we are zoning out on Floyd, dude.

See you next time…..
